How it Began
I formed Kravas Equipment Inc. in 1985, with planning, determination and hard work we grew. My brother, Harry Kravas, came on board in the early 1990’s. Harry started as an inventory control specialist. Now he manages our warehouse and oversees our inventory processes.
Also in the early 90’s Harry’s son, Demetri Kravas started working for Kravas Equipment during his summer breaks from school. He began at the age of 13 as a “Gopher”. By starting at a young age he was introduced to many different aspects relating to the business. Many of his duties were based on learning something new and then using that knowledge in a practical setting. Whether as an office assistant or as a shop laborer he was taught with hands on approach.
In 1997 Demetri, looking to experience a little bit more of the world, joined the US Marines. During his time in the service he trained as a diesel mechanic. He traveled to Australia and Japan experiencing their cultures and way of life. After four years of Honorable and memorable service he returned home in the fall of 2001.
Upon his return, he re-joined Kravas Equipment Inc. working with new surplus inventory items, and disposal of obsolete mill stores inventories. Currently he manages the company; overseeing sales, asset management, inventory control and daily operations.
As you can see Kravas Equipment Inc. is a family owned and managed business, which continues to grow through hard work, determination and a vision for the future. That future is now.
